Ticket, anyone? EDIT: The ticket has been spoken for.
Hello one and all!!
Hoping some of y'all still read this. :)
I have a ticket to Amanda Palmer's solo show at the Great American Music Hall.
http://www.gamh.com/artist_pages/amanda_palmer_080608.htm
This is a standard-entry ticket. There is only one, as plans made by others changed my plans. No cost to you. Just leave a message here if you're interested, and give me a way to get in touch.

[Link] | Dood. How is it that I was never annoyed with a firehouse so close? Seriously, I think they've run loud-and-proud 5 times tonight! Is there some kind of inspection they're training for?
Guess I'm not the only one awake at stupid hours. Looks like two of my lovely neighbors are having a fight downstairs. Something about grabbing his girl? **sigh** I can see the whole "houses are better" arguement my friends make. Well, someday.
JEEZ! Get over it and go to sleep. :(

So ya...y'all read this....weird. :) Initial invite is here.
OKAY, I tried to find a way one could buy a full-day pass. They just don't have anything like that. There are 3 sessions, and each one is a new ticket/sticker.
Given the PEERS plans some have, I'm gonna figure early is best. I'm gonna show up early as can for the 1PM start of the day. If I'm feeling good, I'll buy a tag for the 2nd session too, and anyone can make their own decision on that score...
So.....come skate!!! :) And remember, invite EVERYONE!!! The more, the merrier. :)

In my imagination, I have readers.
Well, I've been telling people as/when/if it occurs to me, but that's not always...useful. So now a real effort to plan!! MARCH 1st!! Save it, mark it, plans to skate until your feets fall off! This will be a group gather. We'll be at Oakland Ice in downtown Oakland. (http://www.oaklandice.com/index2.html) I would *love love love* if you can RSVP, as I think we can manage a group rate
Pass this on to as many as you can! It was SOOO fun last time, and I think we can make it better!! :) We'll be doing dinner afterwards at San Francisco Pizza & Restaurant (http://www.sanfranciscopizzaria.com/)because it's like....two blocks away. Um....ya, that's it for now. -FanBoy PS: Though costuming is fun, it's not required on this most wonderful of endeavors, come as you wish!!

Purging my demon. I'm writing this down because I have to let folks know, and I have no interested in telling this story again. Not once, not 100 times. At the same time, this is affecting my approach to everything right now, so I'd damn well get it out.

Attention me now!! Because I seem to limit my use of this dang thing to public service announcements.
HEY YOU!
If you think you have my email address. You're chances are only 50/50 of being right. I've been working on moving over to my new webhost, but I'm extremely lazy. My butt just got kicked into high gear, as my old email is being deleted in 72 hours.
Comment here with your email address, and I'll send you my contact suite. All comments are screened, so no one gets your data but me.
That is all. Thank you. *BIG KISS*

Bye? This just gets better. Blackberry losing power. This might be my last post. I’m on the 4th floor, locked down. Some folks tried to leave. Ugly. I’m trying to make weapons. People stare like I’m crazy. I’m okay with that. I hope they’re right.

[Link] | The bodies started showing up after we lost power. It’s sick that the remote nature of the office (I used to complain) saved us. No stores, and one café. No one comes here that doesn’t have to.

More data Working for the hosp, we noticed a LOT of calls, but nothing we could tie together. When we lost power, we started the shift to backup at MCB, but couldn’t get ops to answer. We were tried cell phones, and getting a lot of dead air or busy.

More data Great. Wordcount limits. Updating in parts. I guess I'm lucky. I got to work, the near-empty freeway my only clue something was odd. Got to the office, logged in, etc. It wasn't until the power went out at 8:00 that we worried.

Attention anyone!! Help needed. This is a cry for help. Attention please.
I'm sending this from a blackberry I "borrowed" off my boss. The connection is crap out here, so I can't connect using the standard browser. This means I can only send this and hope.

That's 75.757(repeating) miles per day, rain or shine.

On the life of a Boy Goodness.
It's beer well over a month since my last update, and that wasn't about me. Not okay.
Life is good. Or as good as it can be, given the healing body. And the work that keeps me buzz-buzz-buzzing (good little worker-bee). And the commute of doom. And the lack of a magic wand so I can just make the world behave and give everything to everyone I love.
Working. On a Sunday. For ten hours. Not terrible. I even had the spare cycles to write this, so my dear readers (assuming you haven't wandered off in search of greener pastures) win out. I would have been happy(ish) to keep this schedule indefinately, but someone else (with seniority and a 6 month history of working graveyard) wanted it. So I'm doing 10-hour days Sun-Wed for 2 weeks..maybe slightly more. Once that's done, and the permanent-until-later schedule starts, I'll be working 8 hour days again....Sun-Thurs. Still, I'll be getting off bright and early at 4PM each day....we'll see how that works.
Body. My broken toe was pronounced healed 3 days before June Gaskells. Which is to say, I could stop wearing the freaky medicine shoe. I still didn't go, because I was in no condition to dance on it. I *think* I'll be able to go in August. I want to test my foot on a few things, like FNW and maybe a dayhike some time soon.
Hopefully, disasters can happen somewhere else to someone else for a while, and I can socialize. LOTS and LOTS, to make up for lost time. :)
Missing everyone. Signing off for now. (Ha! $10 says we wait another month before we see more writing)

Mmmmm. NewBoots! SO.
Since my old boots lacked sufficient toeguard design. Since my steeltoe boots still work, but they were over a decade old and falling apart. Since I could.
I took myself and Chalepa_ta_kala to the Red Wing in south San Jose and bought a pair of shiny new boots. With the quick-zip modification! Soooo good.
Fun moment(s) when the girl working there tried to tell me I'd have to leave the boots there overnight, since the display boot had the zipper tied in place, but the other boot didn't. Turns out the manager is the only one who knows how to insert the zipper. I took a look at the display boot, and asked her to just give me the hardware. Then, during the transaction at the register, the girl had to call her manager not once, but twice to get the inventory numbers and pricing right. Joy.
After shopping, we headed 'round to find food. The place we really wanted to go to was closed. Such sadness. Our driving around enabled us to stop at a nearby head shop, where Chalepa_ta_kala was able to buy some much-needed gear. Then over to the mall!! Ew. Sushi for dinner, then a stroll (or should I say stagger, since I don't stroll yet) into Linens N Things. I got new pillows. Chalepa_ta_kala got a new cover for her body pillow, little clippies for holding sheets in place (bad sheets! no running away in the night!), a lint removal value pack and the cutest little back massager thingie.
Then home again home again. It took me a whopping 10 minutes to get the zipper tied in. Such sadness when the simple things are out of reach. *snark* Chalepa_ta_kala read a lovely story of small lives to Tutordennis and I. Then there was much collapsing. The day had me beat, and I submitted (aka passing out like a light).

Ouch. (I'm okay) It's 6:45(yesterday), so I'm scooting along the S. 101 freeway, home again, home again. I'm in the diamond lane, since motorcycles are considered 'commuter' vehicles. There's a toyota one lane over that wants to come in, only he didn't see me, so when he comes in, there's about 4-6 feet between the side of his car and my path/direction of travel. I hit him, shattering his left side mirror and bounce/skittering towards the shoulder. I didn't fall, though it felt like a near thing for a few. :)
After pulling over, exchanging paperwork on insurance and all, I saddled up for another 40 minutes of ride home. I knew my foot had taken it pretty bad, so chalepa_ta_kala and I went over to Kaiser for an xray. Between the Urgent Care review, rolling over to Xray (I got a wheelchair!), then back again, then finding the one (tiny, practically hidden) pharmacy open after 10, we didn't get home until 11:30 or so. The xray found practically no damage (whoot!), but I did have one broken bone (shit). The Proximal Phalanx on my right Great Toe. So they gave me a 2PM appointment with a Podiatrist for today, a temporary cast, and crutches. They also gave me a healthy handful of painkilling/anti-inflammatory drugs. The suggestion at the time was they would drill into the bone and pin it. Not happy.
So I met with the Podiatrist, who showed me that the fracture was clean and straight, the bones were all aligned and the joints were healthy. He gave me a supporting 'shoe' and a cane. No drilling. No pin. *WHEW*
So I'm now switching to steel-toed boots when I ride, and when I get to work, I switch to the supporting shoe thingy. No dancing, no running, no hiking....hell, I'm barely walking (gimpy, even). I'll likely speed up as the pain diminishes. Time to fully heal is 6-8 weeks. Joy.

Analysis meme Taken from ariyanakylstram:
If you leave a comment requesting a quick analysis, I will respond to you about the following..
1. I'll respond with something random I like about you. 2. I'll tell you what song/movie reminds me of you. 3: I'll name something we should do together. 4. I'll say something that only makes sense to you and me (or just me). 5. I'll tell you my first/clearest memory of you. 6. I'll leave you a quote that is somehow appropriate to you. 7. I'll ask you something that I've always wondered about you. 8. If I do this for you, please post this on your journal so you can do the same for other people.
